FOS appoints new independent assessor
The Financial Ombudsman Service has appointed Linda Costelloe Baker as its new independent assessor, to succeed Michael Barnes who retired at the end of May after eight years in the post.
The role of the independent assessor is to carry out a final review of the level of service provided by the FOS, in cases where a user of the service has had their complaint reviewed but remains dissatisfied.
Costelloe Baker was the Scottish Legal Services Ombudsman for six years and the Independent Monitor for Entry Clearance for three years, following ten years as a management consultant specialising in service quality, complaints handling and organisational design and development.
