FOS appoints David Thomas as interim chief executive
The Financial Ombudsman Service has appointed David Thomas as interim chief executive, following the resignation of Walter Merricks.
Thomas, who is a principal ombudsman, will carry out the responsibilities of chief ombudsman from October 30 until the position is filled.
Final interviews for the job will be held in December.
Thomas has been with the FOS for ten years, most recently as corporate director with responsibility for strategic policy, legislation and rules, as well as relations with government, regulators and the European Commission.
Before this he was the banking ombudsman and a solicitor in private practice.
