Former IFA Association chairman Bill Raynes dies after cancer battle

Former IFA Association chairman and Personal Investment Authority director Bill Raynes has died after battling with cancer.

Raynes was a director of the PIA until 1998.

Financial Inspirations chief executive officer and former director general of the IFA Association Garry Heath has paid tribute to Raynes’ contribution to the industry

He says: “The IFA sector owes Bill Raynes a huge debt of gratitude.

“He was instrumental in putting together the IFA Association which finally united the larger and smaller players.

“As chairman, he made a huge contribution to making sure that the worst of the pensions review did not visit the IFA sector and he was a director of the PIA.”
