Darling may tax bank bonus pools 50%

The Chancellor’s planned one-off tax on bank bonus pools could be as high as 50 per cent and hit bonuses above £10,000, according to reports.
News of the windfall tax, which Alistair Darling is expected to unveil in today’s pre-Budget report, has already provoked anger in the City.
