CII finds the 35 'mislaid' exam papers

The Chartered Insurance Institute has found the 35 exam papers that went missing while en route with a courier to an examiner for marking.

In the first week of May, the CII emailed the advisers who sat the CF5 integrated financial planning exam in April to tell them their exam papers had been mislaid and they would need to resit the exam.

The CII says the papers are now being marked and all the affected candidates should have their results by May 20, two weeks later than expected.

A CII spokesman says: “We take our responsibilities very seriously when it comes to tracking written papers. It is important to view this incident against the wider context - we oversee more than 80,000 exam sittings each year and our couriers have never lost exam papers before.”

Asset & Investment Management is one of the firms affec-ted. Paraplanner Vincent Wong says: “We are relieved but questions need to be asked as to why this was allowed to happen.”
