2,300 Have no confidence in FSA
The Independent Financial Advisors Political Action Committee’s petition to Gordon Brown to change the senior management of the FSA has received 2,300 signatures since the end of September.
The petition, which got 550 signatures on its first day, says FSA senior management have failed in their job to protect the financial wellbeing of consumers.
West Riding Personal Financial Solutions director Neil Liversidge, who set up Ifapac in July, says he has “no confidence in the FSA to regulate either competently or fairly”.
The petition states: “By failing to properly regulate banks and other major institutions, the FSA’s management has seriously harmed the financial wellbeing of the UK population and now, by over-regulating small businesses, it threatens to make advice unaffordable to those people at the time that they need it most.”
