Skandia enhance service for high-value protection

Skandia is offering a new service for advisers writing high- value protection cases.

The new VIP underwriting service is designed to speed up the application process for high levels of cover. The VIP medical service is offered to clients asking for £2m or more of life cover or £1m or more of critical-illness cover.

Advisers will get access to a senior regional underwriter, a large-case hotline and will be assigned a case manager once a qualifying case is received.

When further medical evidence is needed, an appointment will be made at a private hospital and the client will transferred to and from their appointment. After the medical exam, a personal report by a Harley Street doctor will be sent to the client with suggestions on how they can improve their health.

Skandia head of protection Ian Brown says: “It is the people who need the most cover who are generally the ones with the least time to spare.”
