Provider launches online alternative to PMI

Westfield Health has launched an online health insurance product direct to consumers which allows customers to tailor their own health cover.

Health365 is aimed at the middle market and Westfield Health is specifically targeting professional couples, individuals and families.

Chief executive Jill Davies says: “Until now, people could choose to have a health cash plan and/or private medical insurance. Health365 will redefine the health insurance landscape by providing customers with a flexible alternative.

“While the product is not proposing to be full-blown private health cover, what it does do is approach is every day health surgical interventions that consumers might want quickly to provide a better quality of life.”

Health365 is available to consumers from £15 a month, and works by reimbursing customers for money spent on items such treatment, consultation, or scanning up to a set limit.

Non-urgent surgery is also covered by the plan.

Customers can set their level of cover at either minimum or maximum levels and claims can be submitted online.

In the event that customers choose to use the NHS instead, Westfield Health gives customers up to £2,500 cashback.
