Association of British Insurers assistant director of consumers and distribution Peter Jolly is leaving the trade body, Money Marketing can reveal.

He will leave the ABI at the end of April. The ABI is yet to find a replacement.

Jolly (pictured) joined the ABI in October 2009 from Standard Life, where he was head of distribution policy.

Since joining the trade body, Jolly has spearheaded the ABI’s development of a simplified advice service. His departure follows the FSA’s announcement that it plans to publish a consultation on simplified advice later this year.

An ABI spokesman says: “This is a personal decision that Peter has taken, and obviously we are sorry to see him go. A decision on his replacement will be made in the fullness of time.”

Peter Jolly was unavailable for comment.
