Martin Werth quits Ageas Protect

Ageas Protect managing director Martin Werth is stepping down from the role at the end of the year.
Operations director Darren Spriggs will assume the role of acting managing director from January 1. Ageas Protect has started looking for Werth’s replacement.
Werth (pictured) is leaving the insurer after five years to pursue “fresh challenges”.
Werth oversaw the launch of Ageas Protect to IFAs, and helped the insurer achieve its current 8 per cent share of the IFA market.
He says: “It’s been an exhausting and exhilarating five years. The business is in really good shape and there is a fantastic team in place to take it onto the next stage of its development. I will be taking a well earned break before looking at new opportunities.”
Ageas UK chief executive Barry Smith says: “We are sorry that Martin is moving on and would like to thank him for his significant contribution in helping establish Ageas Protect as a real presence in the market.
“The company has grown into a strong, customer focused business in a short space of time and we look forward to continuing to develop the business further as we further roll out our products across the protection market.”
