L&G enhances group CI plan

Legal & General has enhanced its group critical illness product by adding five new conditions.
New conditions include heart surgery with surgery to divide the breastbone, respiratory failure of advanced stage and terminal illness before age 65. Conditions now covered total 33.
L&G has also increased the maximum free limit to £500,000, and has added the option for a 14-day survival period.
The maximum benefit for spouses and registered civil partners ha sbeen increased to £150,000, and the maximum benefit for all employees for new voluntary plans has been increased from £150,000 to £250,000 benefit.
These improvements are available immediately for all new L&G group CI policyholders and current policyholders can take advantage at their next rate review.
L&G benefits and medical underwriting director for group protection Vanessa Sallows says: “As market leader, we think it’s important that we continue to refresh and update the product to reflect today’s requirements.”
