KPMG recruits former FSA Solvency II manager

KPMG has recruited former FSA Solvency II manager Paul Brenchley as a director in its insurance risk team within the risk and compliance advisory practice.

Brenchley lead the FSA’s work on developing the Solvency II regime and worked on a number of domestic prudential policy initiatives, including the development of the Individual Capital Adequacy Standards regime and assisted in the work of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.

Prior to the FSA, he worked at Royal & Sun Alliance and Aviva, having originally qualified as a chartered accountant.

Brenchley says: “Having spent four years at the FSA working on developing the Solvency II project I very much look forward to working at KPMG and with their clients to meet the challenges that lie ahead as we move closer to the implementation of the new regime.

“As set out, the regime provides a number of significant challenges for many insurers who now need to increase their focus as time begins to tick away.”
