Hat-trick for Axa in protection awards
Axa picked up the highest number of accolades at this year’s Lifesearch protection awards for the third year running.
At the annual award ceremony in London last week, Axa was named best service provider, best provider of critical-illness cover and best overall provider.
The firm also scooped all three awards last year. Axa protection account manager Naomi Greatorex took the award for best individual impact again.
Legal & General won the Nick Crossman award for best marketing and communications and L&G’s Bernie Hickman was best protection director.
Fortis took two awards for best underwriting team and best e-commerce provider. The award for most improved provider went to Aviva, while best new initiative was handed to LV=.
The awards have been running for seven years. Lifesearch senior policy adviser Matt Morris says the variety of winners and those shortlisted demonstrates how well the industry is progressing and improving.
He says: “Once again we were delighted with the turnout. There is no panel to decide the winners, they are voted for by our advisers, managers and support teams on a one person one vote-basis, so it is a true reflection of quality in the market.”

How can Fortis have won best underwriting award when most of the cases accepted by them are flying through online, and the probability of being able to claim on these said cases in future years, if Fortis is even around then is incredibly low.
