Carr quits Pru which signs up as a client for his new firm

Pru Protect director of protection Kevin Carr is leaving the company to set up his own consultancy firm.
Kevin Carr Consulting will offer consultancy, public relations, event management, marketing and training services to the protection and wider financial services industry and one of his first clients is Pru Protect.
Carr joined Pru in September 2008 from Lifesearch, where he was head of protection strategy. He worked for Lifesearch for eight years and previously worked for Nationwide as a senior mortgage adviser.
Other clients of the new consultancy include research firm Protection Review, where Carr will take up the role of chief executive, and the Finance and Technology Research Centre, where Carr will be protection strategy consultant.
Carr says: “I have a long list of exciting new ideas and this venture gives me the flexibility to inject greater variety into my work and focus on the skills I can bring to the market.”
Highclere Financial Services partner Alan Lakey says: “Not only does Kevin have some incredible contacts but people who are in competition with him like him and that counts for so much. I am sure he will make a success of the business.”
