Bupa enhances group IP plan

Bupa is enhancing its group income protection plan by introducing early intervention into its claims process.

From next month, Bupa will provide appropriate early intervention and return-to-work support on all group income protection schemes with no increase to premiums.

A trained nurse will call or visit employees at home to gather claim details and provide full support from an early stage of absence.

Bupa Health Assurance director Steve Payne says: “Our customers tell us that when an employee cannot work due to long-term sickness, they want appropriate and early intervention and return-to-work solutions.

“Having a nurse involved at the start creates a triple win.  It means that the employee has support from the very start of the claim, it helps reduce workplace absence and reduces claims cost and premiums.”
