Bright Grey pays 93% of CI claims

Bright Grey paid out 93 per cent of all critical illness claims in 2009, latest figures show.

Latest figures show that two per cent of declined claims were due to non-disclosure.

The average pay out was nearly £80,000, with the average age of claimants aged 42 for men and aged 41 for women.

Bright Grey proposition director Roger Edwards says: “It’s very pleasing to see such a high claims paid figure.

“However, we’re well aware that our claims data tells only part of the story and that it’s really important we continue to differentiate ourselves by providing the best experience at the point of claim.  It’s a traumatic time so it’s vital that advisers consider this aspect and how providers measure up before they make a recommendation.”
