Bright Grey increases CI pay-outs to 95%

Bright Grey paid 95% of critical illness claims in the first six months of the year, up from 90% over the same period last year.
The average pay-out was nearly £90,000, compared to the £80,000 average pay-out awarded by the provider for the first half of 2009.
The level of claims declined for non-disclosure was 1.7%, down from the 2.5% of claims declined for non-disclosure last year.
Some 74% of CI claims were for cancer.
Proposition director Roger Edwards (pictured) says: “Having consistently built up our claims paid figures, we’re delighted to announce our strongest claims paid figures yet. Having such a high claims paid figure helps generate a massive confidence in Bright Grey with advisers and their clients. The fact we’re also leading the market, with an immature claims book, shows our strong focus on treating all our customers fairly.”
