Aviva enhances IP plan

Aviva has enhanced its income protection plan by adding an own occupation definition for surgeons.

Previously surgeons were only offered the suited definition on their IP policy.

But Aviva, UK Health senior proposition development manager Kevin Murdoch says: “While own occupation terms have been offered to dental surgeons for some time, we are seeing an increased interest from intermediaries to offer other surgeons the option to protect their income based on their ability to perform their own role.

“In response to this we now offer the choice of either the suited definition, with its associated cost savings, or own occupation, enabling medical professionals to choose the level of cover that suits their own personal needs.”
