The T. Bailey growth fund lite is a fund of funds that will actively manage a portfolio of passive investment funds, such as tracker funds and exchange traded funds. It will have the same asset allocation as the existing T. Bailey growth fund, with a total expense ratio capped at 0.99 per cent on the main share class and 1.49 per cent where IFA commission is built in,
Considering this fund’s suitability to the market, Barber Wynn Financial Services principal David Adderley says: “This is an innovative fund which is built on the back of the very successful T Bailey growth fund. It gives clients an added dimension of investment, using passive funds. This gives the client a certain peace of mind and with its very low total expense ratio, it will be very attractive.”
Turning to the fund’s potential drawbacks, Adderley says: “There is no commission payable on the 0.99 TER option, but I am sure an acceptable level of fees could be negotiated with clients on this share class.”
Identifying the main competition, Adderley says: “As far as I am aware, this is the first of its kind. As a carefully constructed fund of passive funds actively managed on a daily basis, it will take some beating.”
