Tories rule out switch to the Euro

Conservative leader David Cameron has said he will never change Britain over to the Euro if he is elected as Prime Minister.

In an interview with the Daily Express, Cameron said Britain should never give up its ability to control domestic interest rates.

He said: “If I am Prime Minister and for as long as I would be Prime Minister, I would never take Britain into the euro, full stop, end of story.

“We should never have got ourselves into the financial mess that we are in but at least we have the flexibility of our own currency and our own interest rates.”
