Sir Alan Budd returns to Credit Suisse

Former chairman of the Office for Budget Responsibility Sir Alan Budd is to rejoin Credit Suisse as a senior adviser.

Budd (pictured) announced that he was quitting his role as OBR chairman in July, after three months in the role.

He was appointed to the role on a three-month contract but many assumed he would stay at the economic watchdog to oversee the Government’s upcoming spending review on October 20.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Sir Alan Budd is now to return to Credit Suisse as a senior adviser, having worked at the company between 1999 to 2008.

Credit Suisse has also appointed former Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee member Kate Barker to offer expertise on macroeconomic policy.
