Aifa chairman and MP John Gummer told to pay back £29,398

Association of Independent Financial Advisers chairman and Conservative MP for Suffolk Coastal John Gummer has repaid £29,398 in expenses deemed excessive by the review.
Gummer (pictured) claimed for gardening, lawnmower servicing and cleaning, which were retrospectively classified as excessive by Sir Thomas Legg’s review of MPs’ expenses.
Gummer came fifth on the list of MPs with the biggest bills to repay, after Barbara Follet, Bernard Jenkin, Andrew MacKay and David Heathcoat-Amory.

This is shameful in anyone's eyes but why were these expense claims paid out in the first place?

Well I'm glad that's sorted Mr Burger Man. Nice to know we IFAs have someone really responsible at helm looking after us!

What? A torrent of outrage at FSA bosses for overclaiming expenses, "one rule for them and one for us!"
And when it's one of your own?
