The Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes has announced two new appointments to its committee.

Suffolk Life finance director Renata Chester and Berkeley Burke & Co senior technical administrator Zachary Gallagher were appointed to the committee at the annual general meeting of the trade body for Sipp and SSAS providers last week.

Amps chairman and Rowanmoor Pensions head of pensions technical services Robert Graves is stepping down as chairman but has been re-elected to the committee, along with DA Phillips & Company director David Phillips.

Honorary secretary and Barnett Waddingham partner Andrew Roberts says: “Renata and Zac will be able to bring new thoughts and ideas to the committee and between them have many years of experience.

“This will prove invaluable to our success in making sense of the regulatory and legislative requirements placed on the industry.”

Graves says: “The scope of Amps’ work continues to expand and we remain reliant on the support of committee and non-committee members alike to maximise our compliance and legal knowledge.”

The committee, which comprises 10 industry representatives, will meet later this month to decide who will replace Graves as chairman.
