Standard Life's Keith Skeoch is highest paid member of staff

Standard Life Investments chief executive Keith Skeoch earned almost £1m more than current group chief executive David Nish last year.

Standard Life’s annual report, published today, reveals Skeoch received a total of £2.1m in 2009 compared to £1.34m the previous year.

Meanwhile, chief executive of the Standard Life group David Nish took home a total of £1.19m last year, compared with £885,000 in 2008, although he was group finance director at the time.

Skeoch’s pay also overshadowed former group chief executive Sir Sandy Crombie who in 2009 earned a total of £1.76m compared to £1.38m in 2008.

Crombie earned £772,000 in base salary, pension benefits worth £193,000, taxable benefits of £24,000 and an annual bonus of £775,000.

Nish earned a base salary of £521,000, pension benefits of £130,000, taxable benefits of £17,000 and a £522,000 annual bonus.

Meanwhile, Skeoch took home a base salary of £350,000, pension benefits of £88,000, taxable benefits of £13,000 and a significant bonus worth £1.65m.

  • If Skeoch is bringing that level of business value into SLAC then he is worth the money.....if he isnt....... well come the revolution he will surely not be forgotten
