Phoenix Group finance director quits

Phoenix Group finance director Jonathan Yates is leaving the firm to join Guardian Financial Services as chief executive.

Yates will leave the group on February 29, 2012, with deputy group finance director Peter Miles becoming acting group finance director with immediate effect. The board is currently searching for a full-time replacement.

Phoenix Group chief executive Clive Bannister says: “We thank Jonathan for all his efforts on our behalf over the last 18 months. I would like to congratulate him on his new role and wish him every success in the future.

“I have great confidence that Paul and the rest of our finance team will continue to drive Phoenix towards success in meeting its objectives, whilst the Board considers a permanent appointment.”
