Honor Blackman takes up Equitable cause
Actress Honor Blackman has called for an interim payment to 44,000 of the oldest victims of the collapse of Equitable Life.
Blackman accused the Government of “dragging its feet” over the debacle, as it is now over a year and a half after the Parliamentary Ombudsman called for compensation, but nothing has yet been paid out to policyholders.
The Telegraph reports that Blackman backed the Equitable Members Action Group in calling on the Treasury to pay out £4,400 per policyholder in an interim pay-out.
