Hickman set for annuity move
Legal & General managing director for protection Bernie Hickman is moving across to the insurer’s annuity business, Money Marketing understands.
He started at L&G as a protection actuary in 2000. He became protection director in July 2005, overseeing pricing and product development in individual protection. In September 2006, Hickman became managing director of the protection business.
He was appointed to the Association of British Insurers’ medical underwriting committee in 2002 and to the ABI health committee in 2006.
He has chaired the ABI’s protection development committee since 2008, dealing with immediate and medium-term issues, including drafting and updating ABI statements of best practice and industry guidance.
Simon Gadd, who was Hickman’s predecessor as managing director of protection, is managing director of annuities at L&G and Tim Gosden is head of product development for individual annuities. It is not yet known what Hickman’s role in the annuity business will be.

Interesting...
Any idea who we're to expect to come in as his successor? Are we going to see L&G protection take a new, more radical direction? or more of the same / playing it safe..?
Hmmm...
