Simon Clamp: ‘Integrity personified’
Friends Provident managing director of UK business Simon Clamp has died aged 51 following a short illness.
He had been at Friends for eight years and previously worked for Scottish Equitable and Scottish life.
Friends chief executive Trevor Matthews says: “The speed at which Simon’s health deteriorated came as a shock to us all. He was a terrific colleague, a valued member of my management team and a personal friend. We will miss him greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Sheila and son Freddie at this sad time.”
Sesame Bankhall Group executive chairman Ivan Martin says: “Simon represented all that is valued in our business. He was honesty and integrity personified. He will be sorely missed by all of us who knew him and remembered with deep fondness and affection.”
Association of British Insurers director of life and savings Maggie Craig says: “Simon made an outstanding contribution to the industry and he did it all with great humility and humour.”
Syndaxi Chartered Financial Planners managing director Robert Reid says: “Simon was a positive influence at a time of great change. It is very sad to lose someone so open-minded.”
