Aviva launches new with-profits guarantee

Aviva is to launch a continuous money-back guarantee option for new with-profits investments.

If investors move out of the fund at any point after five years they will get back at least what that they initially invested.

The guarantee will be available from November 30, 2009 on new investments in the with-profits guaranteed fund. The charge for the guarantee is 0.7 per cent per year for the first five years.

In April, Aviva withdrew its popular with-profits inflation-proof guarantee due to problems pricing the guarantee.

Aviva marketing director David Barral says: “Customers tell us that they are looking for a return that’s better than a bank or building society account without taking too much risk with their money. The fund shows our continued commitment to with-profits, and is a great addition to our existing suite of low-risk and guaranteed investment solutions.”

  • Aviva have contacted me asking my experience with them, answers were on a 1-10 scaling with 1 being the worst. I told them that if the scale had started at 0, that is the score they would have received. As to taking out any further investements with them, only when hell freezes over.
