Aviva calls in headhunters in search for new chairman

Aviva has began to search for a new chairman to replace Lord Sharman, according to reports.

The Times says that Aviva has appointed several headhunters to draw up a list of replacements for Sharman, who has been chairman for the past five years.

Aviva is understood to be biding its time on appointing a successor and is believed to be working with the likes of MWM Consulting and JCA Associates.

The Times says Aviva declined to comment.

Sharman took on the chairman role in January 2006 and presided over the appointment of Andrew Moss as chief executive at Aviva during his tenure.
