Adviser attack on Financial Express over OBSR ratings

Financial Express’s analytics tool has been criticsed for not showing Old Broad Street Research ratings for life and pension funds.
Lowland Financial managing director Graeme Mitchell says Financial Express factsheets from Analytics only show OBSR ratings for open-ended investment companies and unit trusts.
He says if you rely on the Financial Express data, it looks as though OBSR has not rated life and pension funds because there is a blank but in most cases OBSR has rated the funds.
Mitchell says: “This is misleading and I have been trying to bash heads together at both organisations.”
Financial Express managing director Michael Holland says the firm does provide its own crown rating on life and pension funds but adds: “We are always looking to extend ours and others’ ratings to more universes and OBSR’s ratings of life and pension funds is one of those under consideration.”
