Zurich appoints new CEO for Life business in Middle East

Zurich has appointed Mark Hartigan as chief executive officer for Zurich’s Life business in the Middle East, suceeding Carlos Sabugueiro.
In addition to his new role, Hartigan will continue to operate as global head of the international and expatriate customer segment for Zurich Global Life.
He has been with the company since last July, joining from Middle East financial advisory firm Nexus where he was deputy CEO.
Global Life Emerging Markets CEO David Sims says: “This is an exciting new chapter for our business; Mark has first-hand experience of meeting the needs of this distinct customer segment, plus hands-on experience of what it is like to be a customer of Zurich. Mark brings a deep understanding of the Middle East distribution market place and with his passion; he will help to drive the growth of our Middle East business.”
