The Federation of European Independent Financial Advisers has entered a partnership with overseas property legal services firm Judicare Group, making its services available free to Feifa members.

Judicare is a UK and Spain-based law firm specialising in advice and recovery action for investors with overseas property disputes.

Feifa chief executive Paul Stanfield says that as the downturn derailed some property projects, many advisers with expat clients purchasing properties have experienced problems.

Stanfield says: “This service will enable members to assist clients who have experienced property issues and also potentially attracts new clients with similar problems.”

Judicare chief executive Neil Heaney says: “Glossy brochures and aspirational motives have driven demand in the overseas property investment market, lifting return projections to unrealistic levels, which have fallen away since the global downturn.

Abram Partnership managing director Ken Abram says: “Many advisers do not know what they are doing with overseas property. Having access to someone who does would help them do what is right for clients.”
