No sympathy if you don't fulfil duty

I write with reference to Jeremy Newbegin’s recent letter in Money Marketing. He asked when he was supposed to find the time to study.
I have more clients than he does and I have all the responsibilities that he has.

It may be tough and indeed to become chartered one has to do 1,300 hours of study. However, this was somewhat easier because I started very early because I took the financial planning certificate the moment it was started and passed that and took the advanced financial planning certifi-cate the moment that came out so I just built on that as time went on.

One has to invest in the future if one is getting on in years and I am afraid that I have no sympathy for people who are not prepared to fulfil their professional obligations.
