Treasury select committee to scrutinise FSA's work

The Treasury select committee is taking evidence on the work of the FSA

The committee is holding a session on Monday December 15 and will take evidence from Financial Services Consumer Panel chairman Lord Lipsey, chair Financial Services Practitioner Panel chairman Nick Prettlejohn, Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel Simon Bolam and Which? chief executive Peter Vicary-Smith.

FSA chairman Lord Adair Turner and chief executive Hector Sants will also give evidence at the session.

The committee will scrutinise the regulator’s annual report and look in depth at the future of principles-based regulation the Treating Customers Fairly initiative, the retail distribution review, financial capability and regulation of retail banking conduct of business.
