Threadneedle chairman Davies to retire
Threadneedle executive chairman Simon Davies is to retire in June next year.
Threadneedle will continue to be led by CEO Crispin Henderson, reporting to Threadneedle parent company Ameriprise Financial CEO Jim Cracchiolo.
Davies joined Threadneedle as chief investment officer in 1995 and became CEO in 1999. Davies then became executive chairman in 2007. In this role he has focused on strategy, customers and talent management.
Henderson says: “Davies has been instrumental in Threadneedle’s successful development over the last 16 years. He has guided the company through a period of growth and transformation, against a backdrop of fundamental change in the industry and challenging financial markets, to a position of real strength today.”
Davies says:“I’m pleased to have been part of Threadneedle’s successful development over the past 16 years. Threadneedle is a world class stand-alone investment manager with a diversified client base, an outstanding investment and leadership team and a sustained excellent performance record. With the support of a large and strong parent in Ameriprise Financial Threadneedle has never been in a stronger position.”
