Threadneedle boosts US equities team with two hires
Threadneedle has appointed Diane Sobin as a fund manager and Nafis Chowdhury as an analyst to its London-based US equities team.
The US equities team lost two managers earlier this year, with the departure of Andrew Holliman, who was running the Threadneedle American fund, and Richard Wilson, who managed a number of institutional mandates.
Sobin will join Threadneedle on September 12, 2011, as a fund manager, although it is yet to be decided which fund she will assume responsibility for. Most recently, she was US equities portfolio manager at Ameriprise Financial subsidiary Columbia Management.
Chowdhury, who started in his US equities analyst role at Threadneedle on July 25, previously worked as an analyst in the UK mergers and acquisitions team in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division.
Both will report to head of US equities Cormac Weldon.
The company expects to make another appointment to the team in due course.
