Axa-backed IFA Thinc Group launches today as Bluefin Advisory Services bringing together the firm’s advisory businesses with PIFC, EB Consultants, Orbit Benefits and SBJ Benefit Consultants.

Meanwhile, the insurance businesses of Stuart Alexander, Smart & Cook, Layton Blackham, The Davis Group and SBJ UK also launch as Bluefin Insurance Services Ltd offering expertise in corporate consultancy, financial advice, insurance broking, and wealth management under a single brand.

The Bluefin rebrand was first announced last September 2008 following an initial integration period of the businesses. The new firm will retain its local presence with almost 100 offices in the UK.

Bluefin advisory services chief executive officer John Simmonds says: “Over the last 18 months, we have focussed on expanding our service propositions in wealth management, corporate benefit consultancy and financial advice, through strategic acquisitions and Bluefin’s launch now represents the next step in our strategy to build a world class advisory business”.
