Rensburg lining up UK best ideas fund

by Matt Goodburn

Rensburg Fund Management is to introduce a UK best ideas fund in early September featuring stockpicks from four of its fund managers.

Rensburg UK select growth manager Mark Hall, UK equity and UK blue-chip manager Colin Morton and small and mid-cap managers Stuart Sharp and Paul Spencer will each run a quarter of the portfolio. They will each contribute around 10 stock ideas and effectively run their portions as separate funds, with differentiation provided by their contrasting styles and market cap biases.

Hall will target undervalued assets, Morton will focus on large caps, Sharp on small and micro-caps, with Spencer providing mid-cap coverage.

The portfolio will be capped at 50 stocks.

Joint managing director Alex Brotherston says : "All the managers have independently established performance records but behind the scenes they often work as a team. This will see all four of the UK equity managers openly collaborating on a single concentrated portfolio."

A September launch has been chosen to coincide with the group's conversion of its existing unit trust range from CIS to Coll requirements.
