Pearl wants ex-Aviva chief Harvey for chair, say reports

Helen Pow
Pearl is reportedly attempting to secure former Aviva chief executive Richard Harvey as its new chairman.

According to the Independent on Sunday, Harvey leads a shortlist of candidates and has been approached by Pearl headhunters earlier in the summer.

The paper quotes a source as saying: "He is the right candidate to help Pearl take on Clive Cowdery as the life insurance sector consolidates. Rest assured, Cowdery will not get things his own way."

Harvey quit the chief executive role at Aviva in 2007 aged 57 and has been working for an African charity since.
