Neptune to launch China best ideas fund
Neptune Investment Management is to launch a best ideas China equity fund for chief executive Robin Geffen and fund managers Doug Turnbull and Adam Kelly.
The China max alpha fund, due to launch on December 15, will take each manager’s eight to ten Chinese stock-picks, regardless of the stock’s market capitalisation.
It aims to generate capital growth from a concentrated portfolio of between 20-30 securities issued by Chinese companies, or in those issued by companies transacting a significant proportion of their business in China.
The fund will join the firm’s existing max alpha range, which comprises funds offering access to Global, European, North American and Japanese markets.
The fund will be Neptune’s third China offering. The group already has the £82m China fund, managed by Geffen, Turnbull and Kelly, while Turnbull and Kelly also managed the £3m Greater China income fund.
