Julius Baer is launching an energy fund to the British retail market.

The Swiss firm says the Energy Transition fund focuses on the complex changes in the global energy sector and invests in the entire energy spectrum, from fossil fuels to renewable resources.

Its top geographical weightings are in North America, Canada and Europe. Stocks include oil and gas producers and equipment providers for deep sea drilling. They also involve gas-powered vehicles, clean fuel, solar and wind power and power grids.

The fund is domiciled in Luxembourg and can invest up to 10% in commodities and CO2 emission certificates, should the manager, Roberto Cominotto, choose to do so. It has existed since October 31, 2008 and is now available to British investors. The annual management fee is 1.60%.
