BlackRock has confirmed the retail launch of the BlackRock UK focus fund to be co-managed by Luke Chappell and Imran Sattar.

Chappell, the managing director and co-head of UK equities, will aim for long-term capital growth by investing in companies incorporated or listed in the UK.

The fund – which is currently run in the same format as an institutional mandate – will invest in between 20 to 25 of the managers’ best ideas and will not be constrained by benchmark.

Both Chappell and Sattar are members of the UK specialist equity team, which manages the high performance UK equity mandates.

The fund is scheduled for launch at the end of October, the fund has received FSA approval.
