Chancellor George Osborne has announced emergency services employees will be exempt from inheritance tax.

It mirrors similar rules for military services personal that exempt their estate from IHT while they are actively serving.

Osborne also said payouts over the Libor scandal will continue to be allocated to charities, including those for military services staff.

Payouts from Libor will now also be split between charities for search and rescue and lifeboat services, Scouts and Guides.
