New Pease fund raises over £50m

Henderson New Star European special situations fund has raised over £50m since its launch on October 1, 2009.

The fund, which was first revealed by Money Marketing, is managed by Richard Pease and will invest in about 30-50 out of fashion companies.

The new fund offers an income share class that will look to offer 3 to 3.5 per cent initially.

Henderson New Star director of UK retail Simon Hillenbrand says: “To raise in excess of £50 million at launch has exceeded our expectations. The sum raised so far has allowed Richard to commit to a high conviction portfolio of stocks that is well diversified across a number of well capitalised, fundamentally sound companies.”
