Ulster Bank appoints head of intermediary mortgages

Ulster Bank has appointed Steve Curruthers as its new head of intermediary sales in Northern Ireland.

Carruthers will be responsible for developing and growing Ulster Bank’s share of the intermediary mortgage market in Northern Ireland supported by the Mortgage Intermediary Unit in Belfast.

He joins from NatWest Intermediary Solutions, where he was head of national accounts. He has also spent 21 years with Ulster Bank’s parent, the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Ulster Bank head of regional personal banking Paul Thompson says: “I’m delighted to welcome someone of Steve’s calibre and experience to Ulster Bank. His knowledge of the intermediary market will be invaluable in building our business.  In March we launched a £500m fund for mortgage lending and we are determined to play our part in helping people in Northern Ireland get a mortgage that is right for them.”

Carruthers says: “I will be working with my team in the months ahead to ensure the intermediary sector is aware of Ulster Bank’s commitment to the needs of Northern Ireland’s mortgage market.”
