Personal Touch chairman Martin Wilson steps down
Personal Touch Financial Services chairman Martin Wilson has stepped down from the network.
Wilson was suspended from PTFS in November pending an internal investigation, although at the time, nobody at the network would comment on the details saying it was “an internal matter”.Wilson says this has been resolved without any disciplinary issue and has no bearing on his decision to step down.
Personal Touch sales director Dev Malle would not comment on the details of Wilson’s departure.
He says: “Employee matters are confidential.”
Martin Wilson says: “I stepped down as a director and executive chairman to take up an ambassadorial roll for PTFS. The staff grievance that occurred in October has been resolved with out any disciplinary issue.
“I have been at the helm of PTFS for 15 years without any previous staff or regulatory procedures.”
He adds: “My wife and I, agreed with the board to take more of a back seat position in 2010 and beyond to let the new CEO of PTFS to run the show.
“We are still the largest shareholders in PTFS and adore the baby we evolved.”

A very sad day for Personal Touch in my opinion - he was the main driving force behind the business for the last 10 years and ALWAYS seemed a fair and honest individual.

In a network as big as Personal Touch you would have thought it only right that the "members" and the "members" clients were informed of the reason for the enquiry and subsequent departure of Martin Wilson. I am sure the members of Personal Touch are alarmed by this lack of information and downright secrecy!

What a sad state of affairs! This personable man was the "Personal" in Personal Touch and one of the main reasons that we joined the network. It will not be the same without him I fear.

I read this announcement with both horror and interest .
I know for fact that Martin stepped down as PTFS Chairman before Christmas after 15 years of building a "large PTFS family" through is own hard work and that of the PTFS management team.
The suspension/grievance allegations were quashed, when he was found not guity ,again before Christmas.
Come on lets have a corrective statement ASAP.............this is not helping our network of moral at the beginning of a new year.

He is basically a nice guy, works hard and lives life to the full, he expects the same of others and doesn't suffer fools gladly. He may have been misled by a few people which is always a problem when you grow too quickly and the 'hands on' style of management which built the company becomes unsustainable because of the pressures applied by the 'bean counters', the regulators and of course the lenders which hit the buffers as they did.
There may be a few casualties big and small over the next few months. Has the FSA noticed?

Martin will be missed as he is the main reason most AR's joined Personal Touch. I feel that the whole situation has been handled very poorly. PTFS needs to remember who its clients are and who pays them for their services. Martin seemed to be fighting a losing battle by trying to maintain the "personal touch" the company was founded with.

What a shambles! Martin and Amanda are Personal Touch and I believe have been treated badly. I feel sorry for all those within PT who have worked with them for years who must be feeling let down by what sounds and smells like
a boardroom coup to me
In the circumstances maybe Martin and Amanda just cannot be bothered to work with the current borard of Directors any more

It just goes to show that no matter how high up you are there is always someone below you threatening you and your position for personal gain

I am, yet again, disappointed that as an AR with PTFS I have been informed of this via the media and not directly from them. At no stage whatsoever throughout all of this have PTFS relayed any information to their members. Martin's driving force will be missed.

What a sad state of affairs.I have worked with Personal Touch for 10 Years and he was probably the only per there that show a "Personal Touch" and understood the importance of the sales side, I feel its time to move on now, as all good things come to an end.Personal Touch will now show how un-personal they are. They have become what a lot of the other networks were - an Employer.
