Moulton invests in Largemortgageloans.com
Better Capital chairman Jon Moulton has taken a major stake in largemortgageloans.com.
Along with two other entrepreneurs, Currencies Direct group managing director Neil Redcliffe and Masterframe Windows managing director Alan Burgess, Moulton has invested an undisclosed sum into the specialist mortgage broker. Radcliffe and Burgess will act as non-executive directors of the firm.
Moulton previously held a stake in national mortgage broker John Charcol before Towergate Financial bought it out of administration last month. Last week Moulton’s firm also rescued Reader’s Digest from administration.
Moulton has also introduced Hood Group chairman Eric Cater to Largemortgageloans.com, who has been appointed chairman and has also made an investment in the company.
Largemortgageloans.com was launched in 2006 by managing director Paul Welch. The firm specialises in large mortgages exceeding £500,000 and dealt with £2.5bn in loan enquiries in 2008.
Welch says: “With so many mortgage brokers finding life difficult in 2010, the expertise, support and unrivalled business connections of the three new investors will help Largemortgageloans.com become the first choice, large loan broker in the UK.”
