Kent Reliance appoints new chairman

Kent Reliance Building Society has appointed Malcolm McCaig as their new chairman.

McCaig joined the board of Kent Reliance in March 2009, previously having been a partner with Ernst & Young and Deloitte.

He is also an external member of the audit committee at the House of Lords, as well as a member of the Court of Governors for Glasgow Caledonian University and the board of management for Glasgow Metropolitan College.

McCaig says: “Kent Reliance has a demonstrable track record of success, both in its recent growth, and its ability to create and leverage cost efficiencies.

“We recognise that current trading environment and market conditions are difficult, but we have the courage to be innovative and we are prepared to take the developmental steps necessary to build a secure future for the Society.”

He replaces Malcolm Mackenzie, who stepped down at the AGM this week, who will now take up the role of senior independent director.
