Carby, Flight and Gunn join Metro board
Former chief executive of Openwork Keith Carby, ex-Conservative deputy chairman Howard Flight and former Friends Provident chief executive Ben Gunn are among the latest appointments to the board of Metro Bank.
According to reports, the new bank, created by US financial entrepreneur Vernon Hill, has also appointed former Mastercard chief executive Gene Lockhart and ex-Nationwide retail director Stuart Bernau. All the appointments will be as non-executive directors.
The report says they will join ex-Financial Services Forum chairman Anthony Thomson, who will chair the board, and former Royal Bank of Scotland managing director Craig Donaldson, who will be chief executive.
The bank will begin trading with two central London branches in Holborn and Earls Court in April. A spokeswoman for Metro Bank declined to comment on the reports.
